The CMES PTA is currently being represented as one of the interested parties in the Carrollton Manor Volunteer Coalition, a group that was started to represent the Adamstown community and it’s components, such as the CMAA, Fire Company, Grange Hall, and area HOAs.As you may know, Eastalco donated 27 acres of its land that is adjacent to the CMES campus, to the Coalition to be used as a community park. Currently, Eastalco and the Coalition are going through the necessary requirements to transfer the land, which includes the Coalition obtaining 501(C)(3) non-profit status.Eastalco paid for a drawing showing the layouts of ballfields the Coalition is interested in.There is a space on the drawing for a swimming pool, but in order to get a pool, the land must be rezoned, as agricultural zoning does not permit swimming pools to be built.Other hopes for the land usage, which were raised by Adamstown residents in a community survey last year, include a walking path, pavilions, playgrounds and even a library.To hear more, or to voice your hopes for the land, the public is invited to the Coalition meetings, which are...[More]
