PTA Three For Me Program
PTA Three For Me
Over the past several years, the Carroll Manor Elementary School (CMES) PTA has experienced a decline in volunteerism. This is not unique to our school, as other PTAs, athletic associations, and groups across the country are experiencing the same problem. The National PTA has recognized this, and attributes it to the busy family lifestyle that most of us live. Between work, homework, after-school activities and sports, parents are stretched very thin. Yet the National PTA does not want parents to give up volunteering for the school and school events because the benefits are so great. Volunteering in the schools has proven to improve student performance in significant, measurable ways.
MAKE YOUR PLEDGE!
- Sign a pledge card to your child and send it in to your child’s teacher. Or, put it in the Three For Me box located in the front hall entrance of the school.
- Through September, your name will be listed on a “helping hand” and added to our tree on the bulletin board, where your child can see it.
- You will be contacted for any committee you sign up to assist (volunteer forms).
- Other volunteer opportunities will be posted on the CMES website, bulletin board, newsletter, etc.
- When you volunteer your 3 hours, log them in the Volunteer Log Book. After that, if you are contacted to volunteer and wish not to volunteer further hours, simply tell us that you’ve fulfilled your pledge.
- You will receive a special thank you from your child and the school.
